DAN PATTERSON
Dan Patterson is a well-known civil trial lawyer, having tried cases for the past 24 years to juries, judges and arbitrators. During his career he has handled cases involving insurance bad faith, personal injury, construction defects, employment discrimination, fraud, breach of contract, medical malpractice, and environmental contamination. He has tried about an equal number of cases on the defense side as well as the plaintiff side, has represented large corporations, partnerships, insurance companies, closely held companies and numerous individuals. Dan's 24 years of litigation experience have given him a practical and creative approach to mediation along with a very straight forward style.

Dan's colleagues have recognized his expertise by rating him as one of Colorado's finest lawyers (Martindale Hubbell AV rating, Best Lawyers in America: 2006, 2007, 2010 (ADR) and 2011 (ADR), and Colorado Super Lawyers: 2006, 2007, 2009 (ADR) and 2010 (ADR)). In 2009 he received a Competency, Ethics, and Professionalism Award from the Colorado Defense Lawyers Association).

    PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
    Dan has been a member of the Colorado Defense Lawyers Association (1984-1988) and served as an Officer of the Colorado Trial Lawyers Association. Dan has lectured frequently for national and local audiences on insurance coverage and bad faith, as well as trial tactics and strategies and has been a guest lecturer at the University of Colorado Law School, (on construction law) as well as the University of Denver's Sturm School of Law (on mediation and arbitration). Dan has also served as a faculty member for the National Institute for Trial Advocacy, where he trained young lawyers in trial strategies and tactics.
    EDUCATION
    Dan received his J.D. degree from the University of Denver College of Law in 1982, where he served as Editor in Chief for the Denver Law Journal.
